About

Built by a researcher,
for researchers.

KleioBase is a focused, independent product built to solve a specific problem: genealogy research is scattered across too many tools with no memory between them.

The origin

The workflow was broken.

Not because genealogy research is hard - it is - but because the tools available forced researchers to make it harder than it needed to be.

Paste. Switch tabs. Paste again.

The pre-KleioBase workflow for processing a single record: open the scanned image, copy it into one model for transcription, paste that output into a second for translation, copy the result into a third to extract names and dates, then transfer everything manually into a spreadsheet. No memory between sessions, no continuity between records, no connection between what was found today and what was found last month.

Twelve disconnected tools is not an exaggeration.

Scanned images stored in one application, notes in another, a family tree in a third, transcriptions in a text file. The same ancestor appearing under three different name spellings across three different record types with no mechanism to link them automatically. Research hours spent on data entry rather than actual analysis.

KleioBase was built to replace that workflow entirely.

One platform to upload a document and extract everything from it - transcription, translation, structured data, linked profiles - without switching between applications or rebuilding context from scratch at the start of every session.

What we're building

A research partner that remembers everything you find.

Persistent

Every record uploaded, every person identified, every connection made - it stays. The knowledge base grows with the research, session after session.

Honest

KleioBase does not invent family members or assert relationships it cannot confirm. High-confidence matches are clearly separated from lower-confidence possibilities.

Researcher-first

Designed from direct experience with genealogical research. The constraints of historical documents - inconsistent spelling, degraded images, multilingual records - are treated as the core problem, not an edge case.

The builder

Engineering background.
Genealogy research practice.

Itamar Denkberg is a software engineering student and independent genealogy researcher. KleioBase was founded in March 2026 as a direct response to the limitations of existing tools for processing historical records.

The product grew out of firsthand research experience: the same fragmented workflows, the same hours lost to manual transcription, the same ancestor appearing under different name spellings across different archives with no tool capable of connecting them. KleioBase was designed from the ground up to address those specific failure points.

The technical foundation is built on current AI capabilities for handwriting recognition, multilingual transcription, and structured data extraction - applied specifically to the constraints and conventions of historical genealogical documents.
