- When a GEDCOM import can't be read, KleioBase now explains what went wrong and what to do next instead of showing a technical error. If you upload a .zip that contains photos or documents rather than a family tree, it points you to the Upload page for adding scanned records. If the file isn't a recognized GEDCOM, it reminds you to export a .ged (GEDCOM 5.5, 5.5.1, or 7.0) from your genealogy software.

- You can now find people by their maiden name when searching, not just their current surname.
- Records can be renamed directly from the list view. Hover over a row (or right-click it) and choose Rename - previously this was only possible in the grid view.
- Your monthly upload count now shows against your plan's monthly allowance, with any pay-as-you-go credits shown separately as a badge so it is clear how many of each you have left.

- Record thumbnails that occasionally failed to load now retry automatically and fall back to a document icon instead of leaving a blank space.
- Marriage records are no longer incorrectly flagged as conflicting when one record simply says "Married" and another specifies a particular ceremony type.

Choose light or dark mode, set your preferred language and date format, control how married names are shown, and dig into a match's evidence right from the dashboard.
Added
- Light mode. Pick a light or dark interface under Account & Preferences, or follow your device setting. Your choice is remembered across devices.
- A default language for transcription and translation. Set it once and every record you process from then on produces its translation, narrative, display name, and structured details in that language. The original-language transcription is never changed.
- A date format preference. Choose whether dates read day, month, or year first, and KleioBase shows dates that way throughout the app.
- A choice of which surname leads a person's name. For married women, the maiden (birth) name is shown by default, the genealogical convention. You can switch to the married name instead. Both names are always saved, and you can search by either.
- Evidence at a glance on the dashboard. Potential-duplicate rows now open a panel showing the shared details behind the match, so you can decide without leaving the page.

- You can now edit a record's English narrative. Reword the text however you like; the highlighted names, dates, and places fill in from the record's fields and update automatically when you correct a field. Hover a highlighted value to see exactly what it will show.
- When the AI finds people who only appear as officials or witnesses, such as a clerk, physician, or registrar, the review step now flags them with a one-click option to leave them out, so they are not added to your knowledge base unless you want them.
