# API changelog

Dated changes to the KleioBase API.

## 2026-10-19 - v1.0

First release of the KleioBase API.

- Read your workspaces, people, families, records, places, events, conflicts, matches and findings.
- Create, rename, archive and restore workspaces.
- Create and edit people and families, add and remove relatives, read a person's close family and tree, and resolve findings, conflicts and expected records.
- Upload a record, start AI extraction, review the result and confirm it.
- Merge people, accept a match or merge a whole group of duplicates, and undo a merge.
- Move people and records to the Trash one at a time or in bulk, restore them, and delete them permanently.
- Organise people and records with folders and tags, and filter lists by them.
- Search a workspace, read places with their coordinates, read and clear notifications, and get the tree health score.
- Read, rename and delete past Research Companion conversations, including their attached files.
- Import and export GEDCOM files, in the background.
- Deleting, merging and every other action is a single request, with no separate confirmation step. Bulk Trash, folder, tag and notification requests are all or nothing.
- Safe retries with `Idempotency-Key`.
- A remote MCP server at `https://kleiobase.com/api/mcp`, so Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants can use every API operation through tools.
- Sign in with OAuth 2.1 for MCP clients, or use an API key. Connected apps can be revoked in Settings → Developer.
- Available on the Researcher, Archivist and Professional plans.
